Barbecuing- Recipes For Success

March 10, 2009 by powfada · Leave a Comment

A barbecue can be a wonderfully spontaneous affair with food quickly prepared or cooked. Choose good quality ingredients and a few simple recipes, perhaps using the griddle for fast, fun and no fuss barbecue. Griddle are an ideal accessory for the spontaneous barbecue, and for cooking little appetizers, so that the main course can be cooked when the heat is less intense.

If you are catering for larger numbers of people, careful planning will ensure a relaxed event. Have all the preparation completed in advance, and if you are cooking away from home everything will need to be easily transportable to the picnic site. Make sure you have plenty of equipment for carrying raw food (as well as keeping it cool) and clean equipment for the food once cooked.

You can make life easy by preparing certain foods the day before- Breads, pasta, marinades, sauces and desserts will all be much appreciated and are easy to make in advance.

Be Adventurous

Once you learn how versatile your barbecue can be, you can enjoy a world of different flavours and textures. Not only can you cook up your favorite burgers and other quick, simple but nevrtheless delicious meals, but you can also create tasty kehabs, steaks, parcels of fish wrapped in leaves or foil, whole grain chicken, and also griddled main courses or side dishes of meat, fish and vegetables- flavored in all kinds of different ways!

And if you want to stay healthy and keep trim for the summer, barbecued food can be made healthier and low in fat simply by replacing oily marinades with low-fat ones and misting oil, and by using lean meat or fish.
